Do you have a passion for translating data into insights? Do you enjoy looking for opportunities and possibilities in a considerable amount of data? And do you like to create understandable stories from the behavior of online visitors and present these? Then come work at Online Dialogue as a data scientist!

As a data scientist you will work closely with the (technical) analysts at Online Dialogue and be part of multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, strategists and UX designers. You are an important value in preparing and analyzing conversion optimization projects.

Statistics has no secrets for you. You enjoy going to work processing raw data into usable data. You can analyze all kinds of user data (feedback, analytics, experiments) and select the best statistical methodology (e.g. regression, cluster analysis, decision trees) to solve business questions. You present these insights in a clear story to the customer with the main goal of turning insights into actions.

A Day at Online Dialogue

vacancy analyst

Your day starts with a monthly update session at a large Dutch telecom provider. Together with the lead of your team, you present the results of the last two A/B tests. Both tests are a winner (positively significant), so to celebrate you brought cake. This is followed by a stand-up with the Online Dialogue team for the same client. Armed with a good and well-deserved cup of coffee, we briefly catch up with each other, check the dashboard to see how all the analyses and experiments are running, and we set up actions. Then everyone gets to work. As an analyst, you start with a larger analysis, can we predict behavior online using historical data? And how can we use these insights in the optimization program?

In the afternoon, as usual, you lunch with your colleagues outside for a catered lunch at Meeting Plaza. Back at the office, you get to work preparing for the data day of the in-house training that will start the following week. Then you receive an email from your fellow psychologist with some questions in preparation for the next experiment for the Telco and dive into the data to search for the answers. In between, you play a game of table tennis. At the end of the afternoon, you prepare slides for our internal knowledge session the following afternoon. You want to talk about ‘power’ and statistics. You want to propose a new calculation and test how people feel about it. The day ends together with the other analysts. During the meeting, you go over resource planning, discuss all deadlines and evaluate ongoing projects.
