Online Dialogue is growing. For example, in the number of digital behavioral experiments we do (over 100 experiments in the last 100 days!) and the number of countries where we test (most of our revenue comes from international customers). But also in the collaboration with science (from guest lectures we give to A/B testing labs we start together) and, moreover, in how often we appear as a ‘keynote’ on international stages are asked to share our methods and insights gained (more than 25 times in the 1st half of this year alone!).

But the most important growth is in quality of the work performed. Content quality is 1 of our most important pillars. Therefore, our mission is to have the quality of online dialogues exceed that of offline dialogues. To realize that mission we try to use the most knowledge (thought leadership) about online customer behavior and emotions and its determinants and influencers. What actually determines and influences our behavior and emotions?

And what applies to our work also applies to the colleagues within our team; we believe in quality and not quantity. That is why we are building a well-organized team with diehard passionate and senior knowledge experts. A team that leads the way, applies and advances science, explores uncharted paths, with a focus on quality and driven by knowledge and content.

To fulfill this ambition even better - also internationally - we are immediately looking for a (highly) experienced:

Consumer Behavior Expert (senior)
(aka “Passionate Psychology Practicing Professional”)

You will help clients deepen their - evidence-based - customer knowledge and online effectiveness. This can be based on a) consultancy assignments, b) conversion ratio optimization assignments with an Online Dialogue team (especially A/B testing, but also other forms of customer research), and c) providing training (especially in-company). And, of course, you don't do that alone. Online Dialogue consists of 21 diehard professionals; in addition to behavioral specialists, these include digital data scientists, designers, developers and project/account strategists. In one project, the behavioral expert is the initiator, in another project you will be hooked up as a specialist.

As senior consumer behavior expert You will also be given the role of continuously optimizing and disseminating the quality of behavioral science knowledge within Online Dialogue and its clients. We will make sure that you can fill in the growth in knowledge and quality within your commercial hours (about 2/3 of your time). And stimulate you to focus at least 1 day a week on further developing your own and Online Dialogue's knowledge expertise, skills and qualities.

What do we offer you?

  • 20% of your time purely engaged in thought leadership development (your own and OD's development in knowledge growth and sharing);
  • Of the client work time, you get to decide half of it (which clients);
  • A guaranteed fixed base salary regardless of the number of commercial hours and an annual bonus based on number of client hours and knowledge growth, and an additional €500 per month ‘expense budget’ (in addition to laptop, phone, travel expenses also for knowledge development so for e.g. conferences & trainings);
  • Personal coaching and mentoring by senior Online Dialogue partners and always access to the Online Dialogue House (But in its time, you can also just work from home);
  • An organization with 100% - pleasantly disturbed, but top-notch in terms of content - subject matter experts;
  • You will work with many “Global Scientific Valhallas”: namely the websites, apps and social media of local and international brands such as Achmea, Conrad, Google, Hostelworld, ING, Marktplaats, Schibsted, Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile-Europe) and many other top clients;
  • Participation in ‘knowledge cooperation projects’ with universities (e.g., Erasmus and City University London) and NGOs.

What will you do?

  • A) Academy:
    Give lectures, inspiration sessions, (guest) lectures and ‘master programs’ on consumer psychology / behavioral economics;
  • B) Business Solutions:
    Lead and/or participate in our CRO for clients teams. Specific (FACT & ACT):

    • Find: Diving into behavioral science insights for the market/target group/decision phase to be optimized, etc and establishing the most likely ‘key determinants’ of behavior/emotions
    • Analyze: Conducting short ‘agile’ qualitative and quantitative surveys, and analyzing - together with a data scientist - ‘where’ and ‘which interventions’ have the highest improvement potential;
    • Create: Setting up experimental studies and guidelines for the test variations (A/B and sometimes multivariate testing), and prioritizing the experiments;
    • Test: Accord the designed and developed digital experiments;
    • Analize the test results / outcomes together with the data scientist;
    • Combin all (scientific and experimental) insights--along with the account strategist--to grow ‘customer intelligence,’ customer happiness and business results;
    • Tell: Ensure that the entire client organization learns from the insights gained (and preferably governments and citizens as well).
  • C) Consultancy:
    Assist clients with behavioral science insights on an hourly billing basis;
  • Drive continuous growth and optimization of OD's behavioral science knowledge and experience (in terms of content knowledge and research methodologies);
  • That which we collectively find relevant to your and Online Dialogue's growth.

What experience and ambition do you have?

  • You have a background in psychology (consumer, social or something with decision science or ergonomics) or behavioral economics. Your knowledge is up-to-date and you have an understanding (still) of statistics and experimental design;
  • You have been applying behavioral science in practice for many years (at least 5 years, preferably much more) and have demonstrable experience with various research methodologies on consumer behavior (and emotions);
  • You can work independently, plan and communicate, and you can take the lead in a multidisciplinary full of headstrong T-shaped specialists. In addition, you enjoy enthusing and challenging other applied behavioral scientists to continue to grow in knowledge quality and knowledge effectiveness;
  • You understand that applying behavioral science interventions must provide measurable behavioral improvements;
  • You hold ethics and sharing knowledge in high regard;
  • Preferred:
    • Have experience with online research tools (online questionnaires, heatmapping, form analytics, feedback tools, testing panels, etc.);
    • Do you have experience with A/B & MVT testing tools;
    • Are you already connected via social media with one or a few Online Dialogue colleagues and partners;
    • Do you have team management and/or account management experience;
    • Are you multilingual (obviously English, but German, Spanish and Chinese in particular are interesting languages for us).

Get rid of greedy-marketing bullshit, fancy stories and Hippo underbelly. We are convinced that content quality only shows when you test it experimentally. Most of our revenue comes from international clients. We test the behavior of millions of people worldwide every month. People from different cultures, in different situations, with different devices and in different phases of different dialogues. We thus learn more and more what, when, where, ... really determines our behavior and emotions. This knowledge brings with it a great responsibility.
